About Michaela

Hello! I'm a caring, reliable, honest, and creative helper. Along with being a live-in nanny for one year, caring for three children in France, I have also worked as a part-time nanny for three children in Washington D. C. In 2019 I was a volunteer at the Toddler and Infant Program at a School for the Blind in Watertown MA. I'm currently going back to school to become a certified Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments, ideally to work with infants and toddlers. For the past two years I've worked as a one-to-one with a really fantastic high schooler who has a visual impairment and autism. I hold an MFA in Poetry from the University in Virginia and after teaching a poetry workshop there I earned a fellowship to teach in the American Studies Department in Dortmund, Germany. In the past, I've had really strong relationships with the parents of the children I spend time with. I like honesty, even if it's messy. I love baking, making, reading, and dancing.
