Nancy worked for our family for the past few weeks. I was very upfront about needing 5-6hr long shifts as well as flexibility on certain days because being self-employed can be a bit hectic at times. Most days she only worked 4hrs. Nancy was great with our son for the most part. I think she had a hard time understanding wake windows and sticking to my feeding schedule. A few things were off here and there but overall she was sweet with our son and he seemed comfortable with her. She also asked for $25 because of her experience and what not so we happily paid her what she asked for and hoped we could retain her and not have to put our son through getting adjusted to a new person. I also was hoping for a stable schedule but for the most part we would have to get her availability for the upcoming week and work around that. It wasn't the end of the world but certainly not ideal. We are flexible and understand stuff comes up so we just rolled with it. I think Nancy can be a great caretaker and I don't doubt she cares. I do have to point out that she quit via text the afternoon before her scheduled shift. She said her main client needed her on a daily basis from here on out. Again, I understand circumstances change and things come up but I think quitting with zero notice is unprofessional and I now have a week full of meetings and appointments that I will have to cancel or reschedule last minute. Not to mention I have to put my son through getting adjusted to a new person. It's just so disappointing all around.
