All my life, I've loved animals. By the time I was 8 or 9 years old I was printing fliers to pass out in my neighborhood for dog walking and pet sitting. I have experience with almost every animal but reptiles; I have no aversion to them though. I've owned hamsters, guinea pigs, birds, cats, dogs, horses and fish. This past year I worked for a small pet business. My responsibilities included: cleaning cages, feeding, grooming and watering animals, administering oral medication, and advising customers. I was required to know breed specific behavior, and health information and basic knowledge of animal care. I also fostered 4 kittens this summer for the cat rescue ARAS, raising them from 3 weeks to 11 weeks. Although not formally trained, I have been successful in addressing common behavioral problems. Pulling on the leash, mouthy dogs, excessive barking, etc, are behaviors that I have worked with my personal dogs to correct. I've also worked with cats on litter box issues and excessive clawing and biting, as well as general socialization. My personal pets include: 3-year-old male yellow lab/red healer. 8-month-old, female, tuxedo kitten. 5-year-old, male red and tan tabby.
