I cannot even watch those commercials showing abused animals. I have been a caregiver to my own animals through to a very old age, one with diabetes and one with spinal paralysis. All had specific needs. I have watched little full energy dogs and big gentle dogs. I have taken care of cats, birds and have had a varied background taking care of animals at the school for which I was an administrator!
