About Rachel

As part of my psychology and neuroscience pre-med undergrad degree, I completed a 300-hour internship working at a day program for adults with brain injuries, which cause a wide range of cognitive, intellectual, emotional, and physical disabilities. After my internship, I began to work as a Direct Support Professional working 1:1 with an adult with a brain injury for respite care. I have completed 20-30 hours of formal training about brain injuries, medication administration, etc., and I am CPR and First Aid certified. I am passionate about working with disabled and elderly adults in order to help them enjoy their lives to the fullest extent with accessible and meaningful experiences. I have worked with adults with dementia and other memory difficulties, and I am always willing to learn skills I have limited experience with, such as dressing and bathing. ***I am a UNC-Asheville student temporarily located in Statesville due to hurricane Helene, so I cannot accept long-term jobs.***
