About Roberta

I grew up having cats and dogs around me. My mom got a beautiful kitten when she found out she was pregnant with me. Mama Kitty passed away at 19 years old. I was devastated; that was 13 years ago. We also had a black lab, Blackie. He was the greatest dog. He watched over us and protected us if needed. When I was little, he would even eat my dinner when my mom made something I didn't like. I fed him it when she wasn't looking. He passed away when I was 4 or 5 years old. It's like losing a family member. Pets are as much as part of the family as any human. In high school we had some cats and birds. We had an African grey who would say here Kitty kitty kitty, and when the cats would go near his cage he'd try to bite them. I'm 32 years old now. I have cared for my in-laws' dog when they go away. They have a shih tzu who thinks he is a human. He sleeps with my in-laws. He eats regular food and it has to be hand fed to him and warmed. He has a ton of toys. He's a good little dog.
