About Sarah

I'd describe my personality as enthusiastic, understanding, and patient. I like tutoring because I like to help others learn and feel accomplished, especially being a life-long learner myself. I'm looking for a job that is motivated by the want to improve, grow, and understand rather than to get the A right away and take any short cut to get there. I started tutoring when I was a babysitter and then a live-in nanny during college. In my spare time, I like to listen to music, spend time with family and friends, walk my dog, and learn new things. One thing you should know about me is I am a high school biology teacher with both babysitting and tutoring experience. My skills include applying useful analogies, knowing a multitude of resources to aid student learning, and using my own experience as a student and teacher to understand what most students struggle with, why, and how to overcome it.
