I like helping people, especially people marginalized by society, including those with special needs be it autism or mental health issues or physical. My specialty is helping people gain more independence. I do this by finding a person's interests and use that to help them gain new skills, be they social or otherwise. For example, one charge wanted to eat out but was not comfortable talking to strangers. So I made him a deal: He can eat at his favorite restaurant, , provided he ordered the food himself. The first time was hard, by the fifth time he was much more comfortable. I have worked with people with special needs in group homes, in middle schools and, for the last four years, in the homes of the people being helped. I am flexible, compassionate and patient
