About Sophia

I have been a child caretaker, babysitter, and teacher in a part-time capacity since I was 14 years of age where I began my experience with children, when I was entrusted to bond with and care for an amazing 6-month-year-old baby name S. S and I developed a unique bond that involved the creation of our own squeak language. I also exposed her to my piano playing. Since then I have babysat for many families in upstate NY. These families were primarily from the Cornell academic community, which I was, and still am, part of. In my later years, after University I worked in a Private school as a teacher's assistant, after school counselor, and substitute teacher to supplement my income. I also coached 5th-grade basketball and tutored children in conversational German. I am bilingual, enjoy children and helping them grow, and would love the opportunity to connect with any family in need of childcare in the New Haven area on weekends or possibly weeknights.
