Caring for our aging community is a rewarding experience that offers wisdom and perspective and the opportunity to give back to people who have given so much to us. Being a primary caregiver for a loved one is a unique position and I am glad to be able to give respite to you in a time where life can feel pretty consuming and full of challenges. I have been a professional, volunteer and personal caregiver and companion off and on for over 10 years. I am a hospice volunteer and a non-smoker who loves animals and connecting with people in my community. I am a homemaker and I also work from home as an artist, but I miss the rewarding experience of care-givin and hope to find a part time supplemental job doing this work that I enjoy. I treat my patients and clients as if they were my own family and believe strongly that a good relationship between companion and family is so important. My availability is part time. We actually interviewed Stephanie for a baby sitting job some time ago. We had an amazing interview but unfortunately (or fortunately as luck would come) she wasn't able to baby sit for us. She had mentioned she does senior care too and when my grandmother came home from the hospital I convinced my mom she needed to hire someone to help care for her. I told her about Stephanie and she agreed to interview her. I contacted her through Care.com on my mom's behalf and was there during the interview. I believe it's been nearly a year now (?) that she's been coming once a week to help bathe her and take care of the "apartment" that is in my parents house. My grandma says it was such a blessing that I found her and she's so very comfortable with her. She tells me how well she takes care of her and how they prepare some recipes that she has trouble making now. I'm so glad we found her!
