Currently employed by the YMCA which requires a full background check and drug screenings. I also have child abuse prevention training, swim instruction cert, and professional rescuer level certification in Infant, Child, and Adult CPR/1st Aid/AED. Can verify employment and other certifications upon request. My first job was 25 years ago in a daycare, and since then I have worked in child care facilities, elementary schools, aquatics facilities, and center-based and home-based developmental therapy for children (and adults) with developmental delays or disabilities. I am also Mom to two happy and well-adjusted teenage boys and "bonus mom" to a few extras who are now adults with kids of their own. I am a proponent of early exposure to art, music, and literature as a well-rounded approach to comprehensive literacy as well as outdoor exploration and screen limited time for both structured and unstructured imaginative play.
