About Alicia

I have worked in education for 13 years. I worked as a tutor for grades 2-6 focusing on Reading and Math. Since 2013, I have worked as English, Special Education and ESL teacher for students in middle school as well as high school. I have worked in urban, suburban and charter schools. I have worked with students at all different academic levels including students identified as Intellectually Disabled, Learning Disabled, ADD, ADHD, speech/language disability and English Language Learners. In addition, some of my students have had emotional and behavioral problems. I believe it is essential to learn about the student and what interest them in order to engage the students whenever possible as well as make real world connections. I have been involved in politics and government. I am active in the community.
