My philosophy as a nanny is a blend of mindfulness, exploratory, authoritative, magical/creative play-based learning, and gentle redirection; I am also aware of my own non-verbal communication and my reactions to others. Activities I might engage kids in stacking blocks, imaginary games, science experiments, and play-based activities based on developmental level(s). I like to take children outside when it is drizzling /raining if manageable and they aren't sick. A little about myself: I moved to Portland in November 2020 and I love it here! am currently in a Master's Social Work in a bilingual Spanish/English program that will begin 08/2023. I worked with Elizabeth at an elementary school where I observed her working with small children who were in special education. She is kind, patient, and nurturing. Children seem to gravitate toward her and she is able to maintain calm even in difficult situations. She is responsible and is able to communicate with parents and educators alike.
