About Jena

I have 8 years of special education teaching experience, and now work on curriculum development. I have tutored and taught students with a wide variety of needs including specific learning disabilities, autism, language impairments, IDD, and ADD/ADHD among others. I have also tutored students in general education in all content areas, mainly Math, English/Reading, and Writing as well as social and behavioral skills. I plan my instruction according to student specific present levels, learning styles, and interests. I am proficient with technology and like to incorporate that into my lessons and tutoring sessions if and when possible. I also have experience working in a clinic where I was a Registered Behavior Technician, working with ABA strategies and teaching principals. I enjoy helping my students interact with their community by teaching real-world skills and exposing them to new experiences.
