Teaching is an art. Therefore to hone my craft, I continually stay current with best practices to assist students and support parents when students are experiencing challenging academic skills. Although I have taught professionally for 31+ years, I still substitute in the schools, and tutor students privately. I design individualized tutoring plans are developed for each tutored student. This plan includes initial assessment to determine student academic challenges; specific lessons to support student achievement; and parental support to inform, explain, and encourage student achievement. During my years of teaching, a key position I held was Academic Interventionist. The strategies taught in those lessons are some of the strategies that I utilize for tutoring lessons. I enjoy teaching and learning.
