About Karen

Hello, my name is Karen . I'm an SFSU graduate with a BA in Child and Adolescent Development and a minor's in Philosophy. I am currently a Paraprofessional at a middle school here in San Francisco; working with children with mild-to-severe needs and behaviors. A bit about myself: I grew up in a big family, and as an oldest sibling which means I have cared for children of all ages (infant-adolescent). I enjoy reading, journaling, painting, music, and being in nature. I pride myself in being very optimistic, charismatic, patient, respectful, responsible, and detail-oriented. I love finding different ways to express my creativity and kids inspire me to do just that! I understand there is no one-size-fits-all approach to caring for children, as each and every child is unique and has their own specific needs. The goal is to bring that fun, open-minded, outgoing energy, while also building a foundation of trust and empathy with the children I care for. It indeed takes a village!
