I have been a nanny for nearly a decade. I was matched with a family in Jericho through the Vermont Nanny Connection in 2007 when the children were newborn, 4, and 6. They are now 9, 14, and 16. These days, I tutor the middle child in Spanish and housesit for them while they go on vacation, taking care of their dogs, cats, and donkeys. I like to read with children, build forts, bake, go on walks and adventures. I feel that I am nurturing and kind and initiate conversation with children so their thoughts, feelings, and opinions are heard. I encourage learning at many levels and have been a student teacher for the last 5 months for a 5th grade class in St. Albans. It certainly had its challenges, but it was incredibly rewarding! I enjoy being outdoors, going on hikes, swimming, yoga, and traveling. I have lived abroad with host families in Guatemala and Mexico and backpacked through Central America and Colombia. Meghan worked for us for approximately 6 years as a nanny fulfilling not only the tasks of nanny & caregiver for our three children, but also running errands, getting groceries and all-around housekeeping. We were in a unique position to monitor Meghan while she worked as we both work out of the home. Meghan is extraordinarily thoughtful and kind with children as well as young adults (our youngest when she started was only a newborn, while our oldest is now 13). We are wholly comfortable with entrusting our children with her both at home and on outings where she built a lasting relationship with both our entire family. We are thankful to have had her as a part of our family for the time that we did!
