About Alisha

Since I was 12 years old I was a volunteer at a nursing and assisted living home that my grandmother worked at. That volunteer work lead to my first job as an activities aid. I was able to build relationships and connections with residents and their families. I was able to help provide them with daily activities, tasks, errands, among other things to improve their day to day life and outlets available to them. I grew close with many individuals and their families but after sometime took a different career path. In 2015 I came back to the home and started as a memory care specialist assistant. I worked one on one specifically at this point forward with those who were diagnosed with Alzheimer's and dementia along with their families. Daily I worked with residents and provided them with art therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, a safe environment to perform physical activities and manage challenging behaviors, along with daily assistance with everyday care.
